Annotation
A hybrid physics-informed model for an electric arc furnace energy consumption operational forecasting
of is proposed. The model implements a predictive subsystem at the digital model level according
to the Kritzinger taxonomy and is based on a system of nonlinear electrothermal equations supplemented by a mechanism of physical filtering of trajectories within a Monte Carlo loop. Analysis of structural identifiability (SVD of the output Jacobian with respect to parameters) revealed degenerate directions and justified the reduction of the parametric space from 9 to 7 quantities without loss of forecast variance.
Uncertainty propagation was performed using the Monte Carlo method (N = 1000) with automatic registration of the reasons for deviation of non-physical modes. Statistical characteristics of energy consumption, confidence intervals, and first-order and total Sobol sensitivity indices were obtained. It is established that within the accepted parameter domain, the model is almost additive (∑Sᵢ ≈ 0,989), and the main contribution to variance is made by the parameters of the electrical subsystem. Rejected trajectories are interpreted as a signal of the boundary of applicability of the physical regime, rather than as a numerical error.
